Too Much To Pick (Melanie)

It is a big night on TV. I'm a female that likes to watch hockey (especially to see a Pens victory tonight), but there are great shows on that I love too.

Most Pittsburghers won't admit right now that they like "American Idol" or even "Dancing With The Stars." But, both are on tonight also.

Even if you are a die hard singing or dancing lover..you are from Pittsburgh and you can't even THINK about watching these other shows live right??

This is where DVR or TIvo (or if you are old school and still don't have call waiting)...a VCR to tape your shows! Ha!

I'll be all over the place switching back and forth and taping too.

It is brisk in my house right now. Too many windows open. I gotta shut them down now.

The week is gonna get nicer!

Monday Blues.. (Melanie)

Crappy rainy Monday morning. Makes it feel like it really is a Monday.
Buckhead likes the tranquillity of the rain. Relaxes him.
I love the SUN 24/7. Even if I'm overloaded and stressed with 100 things to do with work at home and in life, a bit of sun will sidetrack me to realize how great life is.
I am now certain that my allergies will never get better. If, that is even what I have...allergies.
I must be allergic to rain then today.
Big day tomorrow on the show. The Village Idiots come in to do a Test Dummy Tuesday. Bubba will hockey puck items into the net as one of the Village Idiots (Todd) stands there. I'm going through my house tonight to see what I can bring it that is hard, gross and old that is food. I have to grocery shop anyway, so it will be perfect.
Off to do some radio work. Believe it or not we DO do work after we get off the air!
I had more questions about that this weekend. So, when you sign off at 10am what do you do?
I shook some hands at Westmoreland Mall this past weekend and at SouthPark yesterday!

Does Anyone Else Feel This Way? (Melanie)

Allergies.
I don't need to go into specifics on what is going on above my neck, but it isn't pretty this past week.
Is it worse this year? I surely don't know.
I just know that I'm probably allergic to everything outside my house and inside my house right now...that includes my dog and two cats.
I just feel no relief.
Complainers are annoying huh?
Sorry..that is me right now.

Plucking! (Melanie)

It is so sunny and I walked into my kitchen to start dinner and stopped by a mirror.

OH MY!

Never pluck your eyebrows at stoplights. I did it today on the way home. It was sunny. I had some great long stoplights and the lighting was perfect.

Well, I thought it was.

I overplucked I think.

Awful.

We just talked about this during Chick Chat at 8:40 yesterday morning. Plucking vs. waxing.

I had the bad idea jeans on today.

Mentally Tired (Melanie)

Have you ever felt that? You had so much to do at work or doing your day at home with family or kids that you are just mentally exhausted.

My folks are here. My man is still at work and my little one is on the swing set with her Grandfather she calls "Cappy."

The Buckhead and Bubba morning show today was packed with amazing interviews that I will take with me for years to come as amazing. We interviewed Senator Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama live on the air. My voice shook. My hands were sweating. We all were so excited in the studio. All of the other radio stuff we had going on for election day was big...giveways too..then...huge star Kate Walsh formerly of Grey's Anatomy and now Private Practice called in on our studio phone number. Buckhead answered it and she was like.."hey..guys..what's up?" She was ready to chat with us.

The preparation you guys don't see behind the scenes in radio is fast paced, quick, researched and at times stressful. A good stress. It is ALWAYS fun and amazing.

I'm just mentally tired from all we did today on the show. Doing radio for years was great for me, but morning radio is so LIVE and in your face that I'm experiencing it for the first time.
I work with real pros. The guys today were awesome.

They still made inappropriate gross noises though.

I gotta get outside to swing. When is the last time you were on a swing set? It is pure bliss. Take time and just do it with this great weather. I'm going to give myself just 10 minutes! You gotta make that time.

Noises..The Show..Cool Stuff (Melanie)

I'm overwhelmed with laughter...yep..I said it..laughter..with the way that Buckhead and Bubba make inappropriate noises in the studio and back at our desks right now. It is funny. You can use your own imagination on what type of noises.
Immature? Yes.
Laughter is therapeutic. Remember that.
Big show today. Edward Norton was on live with us. You can go hear the audio under Buckhead and Bubba if you missed it. He was talking about the Pennsylvania primary tomorrow. Big day for us voters. Get out and vote. Listen to the show Tuesday we have a great exit poll planned and you can be a part of it!

Buckhead made his fiance latkes in bed this weekend. Bubba celebrated passover and had soccer, tball, swimming, volleyball, had his wifes Gram's bday and went to West Virginia.
I had a packed weekend. Too much to mention. All I know is that my little girl went to the potty for the FIRST time this past Friday night. The big POTTY event..if you know what I mean.
She also sang LOW by Flo Rida for me. Buck keeps telling me to get audio of it.
She is a singer!

Sunday Agenda (BuckHead)

I laugh every-time I read Mels blogs. She writes way better blogs and more of them than Bubba or I ever could. I know I havent written in a while so Im inspired to do so this Sunday at 8am. Ali (my fiance) is sleeping right now. Im going to attempt one of our favorite Jewish breakfast and surprise her in bed. They are called Latkes. Notice the pic to the left. This is what Latkes should look like if done correctly.
Of course we dont eat Latkes the traditional way. For one Ali hates Onion and I love them. So I am forced to chop the onion very small so she doesnt notice. Latkes are sometimes served with applesauce on top or some sort of sour-cream. Yuck. I just like them cause of the potato, egg and onion all deep fried in some oil. (If you ask me this is really a southern sounding breakfast) I will most likely have grits with mine which takes away any culture to the dish:)
Later this am we are going to see a movie at Showcase. Hang on. Im going to check show times. (jeopardy theme music). Ok here are the options for Showcase. Bob the Builder at 11am or 88 Minutes at 1pm. hmmmmmm. Tough decision! We have a big show for yinz tomorrow so dont miss out on the fun. (6-10a mon-fri)

Random Weekend Thoughts (Mel)

Buckhead and Bubba are out and about all weekend doing events and are busy with family and life. Just like we all are! Me too! Although, we talk a lot over the weekend and do planning for next week on the show. Just got off the phone with Buckhead minutes ago.

I have to take a minute to blog to you before I go check out the new casino 25 minutes from where I live at the Meadows in Washington.

I am folding towels (ladies..you know us women know how to multitask)..waiting for my daughter to get up....just fed all three of my pets and hubby just mulched the whole yard!
So, the TV was on in the other room and my man was on! In love with McDreamy..Just one of the many famous men that make my heart melt.
An old old movie was on..called "Can't Buy Me Love." Great flick. Give it a shot if you never saw it.

Lunch With Rats

I'm learning about my partners in the morning more and more each day. I knew something about Bubba from years back. He is deathly afraid of rats. I mean..we ALL fear something right?
Bubba's is rats. You might have known that for listening to him for years on radio.



Buckhead gets his lunch packed for him daily by his lovely fiance Ali.



I mean first hand great stuff. Sandwich, fruits, treats, cookies, and chips..etc. What a great fiance he has. He is about to eat his applesauce right now. Although, he drinks the applesauce. I'm thinking he doesn't like to use the spoon or Ali forgets to pack one??

I just asked Buck. Ali does pack a spoon. He chooses to throw it away and not use it.

Finally It Is Spring

With today's temps reaching almost 70 it makes me think of all the things I want to do OUTSIDE today.
Valerie Abatti from KDKA gave us the weather woman go-ahead that we can wash our cars because the next 3-4 days will be precipitation FREE!

You know us Pittsburghers...we will be outside with our shorts and tank shirts running in North or South Park today.

In my neighborhood after about 3pm you will see 20 some kids rollerblading or riding their bikes. I love it.
You guys try and enjoy today and the rest of the week. Get outside!

Hopefully, the Pens will win tonight in Ottawa. You gotta love the new song we made. Check it out at the website..our own B94 Penguin fight song. Gotta give Bubba credit because he did write the song. Surprisingly so, because he can't read well.

My Mom texted me this morning while I was on the air. She said she was the MOST proud of my career accomplishments today since I won my first Idiot Idol. I sang the worst Mariah Carey song in honor of her being on American Idol last night. I'm pretty proud too.
